Van Bodies
The Van Body is a very basic body. Essentially, it is just a box to carry things in and is usually used as a delivery (long or short distance) vehicle. The box comes in all sorts of sizes and is made from various materials. Common is the Aluminum Van Body which is a frame that is covered in aluminum sheeting that is typically riveted to the framework. Very common now is FRP (fiberglass reinforced plywood) which is far more durable and is made of plywood with a fiberglass coating on both sides. Virtually all the rental trucks on the planet now use FRP and have for many years. There are other types of materials used to enclose the body including Duraplate® and aluminum panels.

Van Bodies come in a variety of heights depending on the need. Typically these are between 72" and 102". The most common light duty van bodies are mounted on Cutaway Van Chassis which offers low height and a short turning radius. These are common in 10' on single rear wheels for short light deliveries and the 12', 14' and 16' for larger or more items carried. Larger vans typically run from 16' to 26'. For longer hauls, on a medium duty chassis, the 24' is very common.

You can get roll-up rear doors, barn style doors, side doors, slat-lined interior, E-Track and different floor options. You might add a tuck style or railgate style liftgate to make the loading even easier. Some people prefer an aluminum ramp which is less expensive than a liftgate. Choose the options that work best for your operation.
