The Flatbed is as basic as a body can be. It is just a flat platform designed to carry cargo somewhere and drop it off. Add some stakeside gates to it and you have a Stakebed. There are lots of options that you can add to a Flatbed to make it more useful for your business. Some of those items may be a hitch, upper bed boxes, under bed boxes, tapered headboard, short contractor style gates, cross boxes, HD rack, cranes, dump hoist, and much more.

Most flatbeds have floors made of wood, and they are available with composite flooring (a number of different kind are available), steel (smooth or diamond plate) overlay over the wood (the strongest way), or steel without wood underneath.
