The Hybrid truck is here now in the 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. For light duty use, this truck may offer a perfect solution for your business--especially if there is a great deal of in town stop and go driving. Hybrid for larger trucks is available from a few manufacturers. Coca-Cola has a fleet of medium duty hybrids right now and is adding more. UPS is in the process as well, along with other companies.

Electric trucks are available right now from two manufacturers: Smith Electric Vehicles and ZeroTruck by Electrorides Smith is from Europe where they have been around for some time (80 years!) and offer a wide range of electric truck solutions. Smith Electric Trucks are building their US plant to begin production here. ZeroTruck is beginning production in 2009 on their class 4 truck.
